Since my earliest memories as an infant, I’ve been filled with joy scribbling with crayons wherever I could reach, hinting at my enduring passion for artistic expression. I eagerly awaited moments of illness to stay home and lose myself in coloring books.

After growing up in Santa Barbara, California, I embarked on a journey to the East Coast. Despite spending years in the corporate world, I remained unsatisfied. In the mid-’80s, I took a significant leap and enrolled at the Montserrat College of Art in Beverly, Massachusetts. Following my graduation, I returned to California, and my portfolio of paintings has expanded ever since.

My preferred medium is oil paint, valued for its rich, buttery texture, ideal for capturing the beauty of California’s landscape. My creative process begins outdoors, where I immerse myself in my surroundings. In these moments of deep connection, my imagination takes flight, contemplating the best approach to capture the essence of the scene before me. Often, I rely on photographs taken on-site to guide my interpretation or to preserve the memory of my observations. I take pleasure in pushing boundaries with vibrant colors and thickly applied paint. My time in art school greatly influenced me, particularly the bold colors and thick impasto technique associated with artists like Edward Hopper and Richard Diebenkorn.

Currently residing in the charming beach town of Ventura, California, I take great pride in showcasing my original works and prints in several hospitals, including the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. Knowing that my art can convey messages of hope and healing to patients, visitors, and staff is a priceless gift.

My ultimate aspiration is to spark joy and inspiration in others through my art, just as it continues to do for me.
